SnowClub
If conditions are such that our staff cannot reasonably travel to school (and only three teachers live within walking distance), we have no alternative but to close the school. However, we are also aware that some parents would struggle to find childcare under these circumstances – and SnowClub is our compromise solution. SnowClub is an emergency child-care facility, for those days when the school premises are safe for the children and some staff are available, but not enough to open as a school. The school will endeavour to run SnowClub whenever it can, but parents must not assume that the school will always be open – there may be occasions when the building is not safe (eg: heating failures) or no senior staff are available (eg: widespread illness).
Numbers will be limited, based on the staff who can be certain of getting into school. All children must be pre-registered, and parents must ensure that the children will be collected at 3:30 ( so that our staff can go home), and parents must therefore provide two emergency contacts, at least one of whom must live close to the school. This will be a child-care facility, not a teaching day, and children who are not registered with the club will not miss any schooling as a result.
